Cincinnati Art
- Cincinnati
Art Museum was founded in 1881. Located in Eden Park, it is one of the
oldest visual arts institutions in the country. General admission to
the museum and its collection is free.
- The
Taft Museum of Art
- The Contemporary Arts Center. The building itself
has gained international attention for it's original architecture. The
CAC has an illustrious history. It has featured the art of now-famous
artists early in their career, such as: Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns,
Robert Rauschenberg, Nam June Paik, I.M. Pei, and Laurie Anderson.
- Pyramid
Hill Sculpture Park and Museum is one of the few sculpture parks in the
United States. It was opened in 1996 and was described by
Atlantic Monthly as the "most beautiful natural setting of any art park
in the country. It's 265 acres display 45 sculptures, although more are
planned. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the
arts and the environment. Pyramid Hill offers concerts, special events
and kids programs. Most Cincinnatians have never heard of it - check it
out, and tell a friend!

Science Attractions
- The
Cincinnati Museum of Natural History and Science is dedicated to local
geology and geography, anatomy and all aspects of the cycle of life.
- The
Cincinnati Observatory Center presents free lectures and telescope
viewing on most Thursday evenings. It is open for public stargazing
most Friday nights and many Saturday nights for a nominal fee per
person.
- Wolff Planetarium in Burnet Woods This Spitz Model
A-1 planetarium was purchased in 1950. 20 adults can sit under the dome
to view the stars in all seasons and latitudes. Each session is led by
an experienced naturalist who knows diverse myths and obscure facts
about the stars.
Amusement Parks, Aquariums, and Zoos
- The
Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is consistently ranked as one of
the top zoos in the country. It is internationally known for its success
in the protection and propagation of endangered animals and plants.
- Paramount's
Kings Island is a 364 acre park with rides, shows, a water park,
children areas and games. It is home to the world's best wooden
roller coaster, The Beast.
- The
Newport Aquarium houses more than 11,000 water creatures.
- The
Dude Ranch offers horseback riding, real cattle drives, hayrides,
campfires, a petting zoo and paint ball.
Parks and Gardens
- The Krohn Conservatory has more than 3,500 species
of plans from all over the world. It is open every day of the year from
10 AM to 5 PM. Admission is free, although they accept donations.

Chili It is so much better than it sounds. We promise.
- Jungle
Jim's International Market. We nearly put this unique shopping
experience under amusement parks. It has a huge selection of food from
around the world, and an extraordinarily large produce selection.
Jungle Jim's draws 50,000 shoppers per week - it needs to be seen to be
believed.
Sports
Festivals and Events
- Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati was first held in 1976 near
Fountain Square. It has grown to become North America's largest
Oktoberfest with over half a million people attending each year.
- Tallstacks
was first held as part of Cincinnati's bicentennial celebration in
1988. It is now held approximately every four years, and is a full five
day event of riverboats complete with cruises, tours and races, as well
as music and entertainment.
